The Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club is a private club whose mission it is to provide our members a place to safely practice with firearms and to enjoy the outdoors.
The facility is open to club member’s dawn to dusk every day of the year and provides a place for shooting rifles and handguns into a back stop, an archery area, and an area for shotgun shooting at clay targets. Once you are a member, there are no additional range fees to use the shooting areas of the club. There are fees for organized events like trap and sporting clays to cover club expenses.
The Club offers many organized shooting events during the year that include Sporting Clays, Individual Trap, League Trap, and Team Trap. These events give members the opportunity to improve and display their shooting skills. Consult the current annual schedule for the next event.
HISTORY
The Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club has been in existence since 1946 when it was formed as an Iowa corporation. The club is also a Non-Profit organization. The club is operated by a board of all volunteers.
The Club was founded on the principles of education and enjoyment of the outdoors. These principles have continued through the years by providing a place for safe shooting, gun safety education, and providing an area for youth groups to enjoy the outdoors.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
The club has a meeting each month to go over club business and review up-coming events. The meeting is held the 3rd Tuesday of each month and starts at 7 PM with a meal and the meeting to follow. The meeting is held in the Club House and is open to all members.
If you have questions, concerns or ideas, this is the best way to communicate those items and join in the future direction of the club.
